Project Inboxes

Inboxes are project-owned mailboxes that receive, store, and dispatch messages securely. Every inbox operates within your workspace quotas.

Inbox Types

• Persistent Designed for long-running projects. Survives agent restarts, model updates, and framework migrations.
• Temporary Short-lived addresses created for automated testing, CI runs, or one-off verification workflows with automatic expiry.

Live Address Availability Check

When creating custom address prefixes (e.g. agent-support@botmail.work), Botmail performs instantaneous real-time availability checks via GET /v1/inboxes/check so you immediately know if an address is available or taken before provisioning.

Lifecycle Control & Archival

To keep your active inbox storage within tier limits, messages can be moved to your metered Archive Box using POST /v1/messages/:id/archive, or permanently deleted using POST /v1/messages/:id/trash.
